Soon after, George and Andrew started Wham! in 1981 and won a deal with Innervision records. Around this time Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou changed his name to the memorable George Michael. Wham!’s first album Fantastic, became No.1 on the UK charts in 1983. George continued his career, but in 1987 he decided to start a solo career away from Wham! His new career choice was a big success naming him one of the Worlds Best Selling Music Artists. But no matter where he went he stayed in the same genre’s which are Post-disco, Dance-pop, Blue-eyed Soul and Pop. |
